Rona Birnbaum, Chief, Climate Science and Impacts Branch, USEPA, Climate Change Division

Rona Birnbaum manages the Climate Science and Impacts Branch in EPA’s Climate Change Division, Office of Atmospheric Programs.  EPA’s Climate Change Division works to assess and address global climate change with a key role in U.S. and international efforts including implementing voluntary programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, analyzing greenhouse gas emissions and economically efficient reduction strategies, geologic sequestration, and climate change adaptation options, communicating climate analyses and strategies to policy-makers, experts and U.S. climate negotiators, and educating the public on climate change.  The Climate Science and Impacts Branch works to synthesize and leverage emerging science and assess economic implications of climate change impacts and adaptation strategies in the U.S.

Ms. Birnbaum’s Branch works extensively with the research community as an interface with EPA’s climate change mitigation efforts and partners with other federal agencies and EPA Program and Regional Offices.
