Abstract:
Long planned and long awaited, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project to deepen the Delaware River Main Channel from 40 to 45 feet is now in its final year of construction. This presentation will address the project's purpose and history, economic aspects, main technical features, and a summary of its 10 contracts (7 complete, 3 still under way).
Speaker Bio:
Ed Voigt has served in the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Philadelphia District since 1995, and as Chief of Public and Legislative Affairs since 2004. As the District Commander's communications advisor and external liaison, Voigt manages congressional, state, media and public relations, to include social media and web content management, for the Philadelphia District and the USACE Marine Design Center. Before joining the Corps he worked more than 12 years in the private sector, including as a manufacturing engineer for New Holland and as a project manager for Texas Instruments. A native of New Castle, Del., Voigt holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the University of Dallas, and is a retired Army Reserve lieutenant colonel.

The meeting price for non-members who wish to receive a Certificate of Attendance for the PDH is $10.00 ($3.00 for meeting + $7.00 for certificate).
