American Water Resources Association
2018 National AWRA Annual Conference
AWRA's 54rd Annual Conference will be held November 4-8, 2018 at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, in the heart of Baltimore's downtown, on the bay and just a short drive from BWI airport. The conference, hosted by the Delaware Section, in partnership with members of the New Jersey and National Capital sections of AWRA, will convene water resource professionals and students from throughout the nation.
The Inner Harbor area has many unique Baltimore attractions. Take a few steps from the conference venue to try famous Maryland blue crab in the local eateries, visit the American Visionary Art Museum and the Baltimore Aquarium and check out the many local sights surrounding the Baltimore Harbor.
The 2018 conference will include locally relevant topics such as the Chesapeake Bay, the Delaware River watershed, and eastern water law as well as globally significant issues such as coastal resilience, fire effects on watersheds, communication and outreach strategies and integrated water resources. The conference technical co-chairs, Kathy Hale (New Jersey Water Supply Authority) and Kelly Mott Lacroix (US Forest Service) promise a robust array of multidisciplinary technical sessions.
Additional conference highlights will include: pre-conference field trips, the always popular student and young professionals career night, fun run, awards luncheon, exhibitor booths, student poster session and lightning talks. Please contact the conference chair or technical co-chairs about special sessions, workshops, field tours or to get involved with the conference.
