Featured Speaker:  Andrew Kricun, P.E., Deputy Executive Director/Chief Engineer, Camden County Municipal Utilties Authority

The problems of aging infrastructure, aging workforce, and increasingly more stringent regulations require water and wastewater utilities to optimize their efficiency in order to effectively meet these challenges.  One very effective method of optimizing performance and efficiency is implementation of an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS)

The Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority (CCMUA), operators of an 80 million gallon per day wastewater treatment plant, has realized significant improvements in efficiency through implementation of an EMS.  As a result, the CCMUA has been recognized by both the USEPA and the NJDEP for outstanding environmental performance, while managing to hold its user rate steady for the past 14 years, with three rate cuts during that time frame.

Mr. Kricun will discuss the benefits available to water and wastewater utilities through implementation of an EMS and encourage utilities interested in improvement to consider implementing an EMS themselves.
