TTF Watershed Partnership


The Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership (TTF Watershed) connects its watershed residents and communities to their creeks. TTF Watershed has planted thousands of trees and installed GSI projects at 25 sites across its 30 square mile watershed.  Julie Slavet, Executive Director since 2011, will share how this 15 year old organization uses lots of tools to implement education, stewardship, restoration, and advocacy to improve water quality... and how the staff has innovated these past months to stay engaged and get things done.


Julie has 40 years of experience in building organizations and serving communities. She came to Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership in 2011, after serving as the senior district staff member for Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, leading constituent services and outreach efforts in a district of 650,000 people in Montgomery County and Northeast Philadelphia. Julie has worked at city and state levels of government and for a range of non-profit organizations. She earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Smith College and an M.S. in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts. A founder of Indivisible PHL, she has served as leadership for the Jenkintown Community Alliance, Montgomery County Democratic Women’s Leadership Initiative, Hiway Theatre, and Jenkintown Library. She is a Democratic Committeeperson in Philadelphia’s Fifth Ward and serves on the Board of Directors of the Fund for the Fairmount Water Works. Julie has grown to love Philadelphia, and doesn’t miss Boston as much as she once did. 


This seminar does qualify for 1.0 Professional Development Hour (PDH). A Certificate of Attendance will be available for AWRA-PMAS members only. The meeting price for non-members who wish to receive a Certificate of Attendance for the PDH is $10.00 ($3.00 for meeting + $7.00 for certificate).  

Please note: Presentation is to be given through Zoom at the link below. PDH's will be issued through PDFs. Please allow extra time to register through Zoom and get software set up. Presentation will start at noon. Early participants will be in a Waiting Room until noon. Participants must email to request PDH Certificate after the event.
