Topic:  Nutrient Trading in Pennsylvania

Featured Speaker:  Ann Smith Roda, Program Analyst Office of Water Management, PA Department of Environmental Protection Headquarters, Harrisburg, PA

Ms. Roda will discuss the basic concepts underlying the relatively new nutrient trading program established by PADEP so to provide market incentives for innovative technology in wastewater treatment and nonpoint source pollution abatement mechanisms.  She will also highlight some upcoming enhancements to the program through a new rulemaking.  An update will be provided on the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Implementation Plan development for PADEP and the areas where the trading program could play a significant role in the future.

Please note: this will be the final speaker series event of the AWRA-PMAS 2009/2010 season, we sure hope that you will join us.  At the conclusion of Ms. Roda's presentation, we will be taking a vote of the membership on the two board nominations that were provided on May 20, 2010.

You do not need to be present to vote.  Simply reply to the meeting announcement with your decision on one or both nominations.  They are Marlou Gregory, AMEC, for Secretary and Chris McEntee, Greeley & Hansen, for Membership.  Voting will close via email on June 17, 2010.

Thank you for your participation in this important matter and please forward any suggestions for speakers/topics for the next 2010/2011 section season starting Sept. 16.
